CourseCo, Inc is seeking qualified superintendents for Valley Oaks Golf Course located in Visalia, CA. Valley Oaks is a year round 27-hole, with +/-64,000 annual rounds. A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university or two-year degree from an accredited university, preferably in Turfgrass Management or equivalent experience. Five years related experience and/or training. Ideal candidate will possess excellent agronomic, people and water management skills. Spanish speaking is preferred.

Duties: Golf course maintenance including clubhouse landscapes and entrance road. Maintenance budget (+/-$850k) and purchasing, equipment maintenance, fertilizer/pesticide application, trees, lake maintenance, Audubon Re-Certification and community outreach program.

Experience: Poa annua/bentgrass greens. Written and verbal skills are important. Must have strong relationship building skills, strong hiring, selection and indoctrination skills. Excellent people skills: you will interface with the City, Golf Committees, and the community. Your passion for the environmental management will assist you in Audubon Re-Certification.

Event and Program Coordinator
Job Posting – March 25, 2013

The Event and Program Coordinator will be responsible for the formulation, implementation and management of community-based programs in golf, tennis and education. Programs will serve youth particularly, as well as families, seniors and other golf and tennis enthusiasts. She/he will participate in development of community service elements of Glendoveer’s business strategy. The Event and Program Coordinator is responsible for all activities related to successful promotion, sales and execution of group golf events. This includes, but is not limited to, actively marketing events packages to area businesses and groups, responding to requests for information, tournament up-selling, contracting groups, coordinating event activities with other departments, re-booking past customers, and following up with customers for feedback after the event. Additionally, the Event and Program Manager will be active in networking, creating sales opportunities and engaging in guest interaction. This position assists the General Manager in the successful growth and operations of Glendoveer Golf and Tennis.

Essential Functions include:

  • Identify relevant community serving agencies and form and manage relationships with these agencies for mutual benefit
  • Coordinate with existing service programs such as First Tee, Special Olympics, Summit Foundation
  • Formulate, implement and manage community based programs in golf, tennis and education.
  • Manage internship program in relationship with the POIC and other agencies
  • Execute outbound sales efforts for leagues and events as directed by the General Manager
  • Utilize the point-of-sale (POS) register system to schedule golf tee times, register guests for play, perform financial transactions, generate tournament invoices and reconciling tournament accounts.
  • Collect event deposit at signing of agreement, collect final payment prior to event.
  • Record deposits and other payments properly in the POS system and in a timely manner. Record event charges properly in POS system.
  • Supervise and train staff for successful event execution.
  • Supervise event coordinators to ensure timely production of all event collateral and a smooth “day of event” experience.
  • Promote a friendly, welcoming environment.
  • Work with management and Golf Operations staff to produce appropriate promotional materials for group events.

The Human Resource Generalist provides support to the Chief Financial Officer. This position is responsible for maintaining an orderly, safe workplace environment, and providing assistance to fellow employees on employment related issues, processing accurate, timely payroll, and administering benefits.

PROVIDE OVERSIGHT OF THE PAYROLL PROCESS AND SUPERVISE THE PAYROLL MANAGER

SUMMARY/PURPOSE: The Golf Shop Assistant provides support to the Golf Operations department. This position is responsible for aiding the Golf Professionals to manage the Golf Shop, golf customer service, and Course programs. This position assists the Golf Professionals in the successful growth and operations of the company.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Promote Financial Stability: Promote and sell golf shop merchandise; maintain appropriate “cost-of-goods-sold” percentage. Assist Golf Professionals to execute all tournament activities.

Foster Teamwork and Cohesiveness: Direct Cart and Range Attendants, Course Guides, and Marshals. Attend departmental meetings as required.

Ensure Company and Regulatory Compliance: Open and close Golf Shop in accordance with accepted policies and procedures. Administer the continuous use of an effective pace of play program.
