Lance Iwanaka
Senior Operations Manager
Originally from San Jose, California, Lance began his golf career shortly after graduating from the University of California at Davis in 2002, where he earned a degree in International Relations and minors in Asian American Studies and Japanese.
Lance first started with CourseCo as the General Manager of Boundary Oak Golf Course in Walnut Creek in 2009. Throughout his 20 plus years in the golf business, he has worked for multiple management companies in various management positions. These include Assistant General Manager, Head Golf Professional and General Manager at public, semi-private and private golf clubs. In 2011 he was awarded the John C Telischak Award (General Manager of the Year) as the top performing property in CourseCo. He is a Class A member of the PGA of America.
Since re-joining CourseCo in 2017 as Senior Operations Manager, Lance’s responsibilities include operational oversight of 10 golf properties in the Bay Area. He works closely with General Managers and Department Heads onsite to support them and maximize financial performance.
Lance currently resides in San Francisco with his wife Mindy and two children, Evan and Drew. Outside of work, Lance enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and visiting his extended family in Hawai’i when possible.
