Petaluma, CA- January 2020
The NGF’s Top 100 Businesses in Golf is a biennial list created to recognize the most influential, successful and innovative companies, organizations and associations in the golf industry. Also called the NGF GOLF 100, the initiative is a strategic fit with the NGF’s unique standing as the only trade association that serves every vertical within the golf industry.
This year, Petaluma based golf management company, CourseCo was named to the Top 100 list for a second consecutive time. The NGF GOLF 100 is a list – not a ranking – that is broken down by sectors and celebrates the sport’s vitality, size and depth. The diverse list of companies and organizations contain not only the well-known brands that golfers see on TV, but celebrates the innovators and influencers throughout various business segments that contribute to golf’s more than $84 billion impact on the economy.
CourseCo is a full service golf course management company, a segment of the golf business that continues to grow, with the number of golf courses in the United States working with third-party management companies increasing from 10.6 percent in 2006 to almost 16 percent today. That figure is estimated by some in the industry to surpass 20 percent of all golf facilities by 2020. There are more than 230 companies with at least two golf facilities under management, and CourseCo, Inc. was one of only 12 management companies to make the NGF GOLF 100. “I am extremely proud and honored to find CourseCo on this list of the golf industry’s most innovative and influential companies in the golf industry,” said Michael Sharp, President and CEO of CourseCo. “This recognition is a result of CourseCo’s commitment to building strong relationships with our clients, guiding our golf courses toward improved financial results, leading the industry in the area of Environmental Leadership, and transforming the golf courses we manage into highly utilized community centerpieces that provide recreation and family programming.”
CourseCo has established a reputation in the golf industry as the leading golf management company in the area of environmental leadership, becoming the first management company ever to earn the President’s Award for Environmental Stewardship (GCSAA).
