• CourseCo Employees Honored at the 2025 GCSAA Environmental Leaders in Golf Awards

CourseCo is thrilled to announce that five exceptional employees have been recognized for their outstanding environmental stewardship at the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) Environmental Leaders in Golf Awards (ELGA), presented in partnership with Syngenta. These awards honor golf course superintendents for their commitment to environmental sustainability and innovative practices in golf course management.

Jorge Mendoza, Superintendent of Green River Golf Club, was awarded the top honor, receiving the Innovative Conservation Award. Jorge's leadership in developing cutting-edge water conservation techniques and resource management programs has set a new benchmark for the industry. His contributions at Green River Golf Club have not only enhanced the course’s sustainability but have also demonstrated the effectiveness of innovative conservation practices in preserving environmental quality for future generations.

Michael Bednar, Superintendent at Palouse Ridge Golf Club at Washington State University, has been named the First Runner-Up for the Healthy Land Stewardship Award. This prestigious award recognizes individuals who demonstrate excellence in managing natural resources, focusing on habitat preservation, water conservation, and soil health.

Carl Thompson, CGCS, Columbia Point Golf Course has earned the title of First Runner-Up for the Communications and Outreach Award. His efforts to raise awareness about environmental practices within the golf community and engage the public have set a standard for other superintendents across the industry.

Chris Robson, Superintendent at Glendoveer Golf and Tennis, has been honored as the Second Runner-Up for the Innovative Conservation Award. His creative approach to implementing conservation initiatives at Glendoveer Golf and Tennis exemplifies the forward-thinking solutions that are crucial to the future of sustainable golf course management.

Justin Brimley, Superintendent at Crystal Springs Golf Course, was named Second Runner-Up for the Natural Resource Conservation Award, recognizing his dedication to conserving natural resources and promoting sustainability at Crystal Springs Golf Course.
