CourseCo proudly announces that Michael Bednar, Superintendent at Palouse Ridge Golf Club, has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to environmental sustainability in golf course management at the prestigious 2025 GCSAA Environmental Leaders in Golf Awards. Presented in partnership with Syngenta, this annual event celebrates those who demonstrate exemplary commitment to environmental stewardship.
Michael Bednar was named First Runner-Up for the Healthy Land Stewardship Award, honoring his leadership in habitat preservation and soil health initiatives. His dedication to maintaining healthy ecosystems and prioritizing sustainable practices has set a new standard of excellence within the golf industry.

Michael reflected on his experience at the GCSAA Conference and Trade Show (CTS) held in San Diego, stating, "This year's GCSAA CTS was highly beneficial. The educational sessions were insightful, the conversations with suppliers were productive, and the networking opportunities were abundant. I enjoyed the opportunity to assist with the FFA National Turfgrass Science Invitational (NTSI) practicum evaluations and I am excited for the future of this new program."
The FFA NTSI, a new initiative aimed at engaging high school students in turfgrass science, was another highlight for Michael. "The FFA NTSI was a huge success, and I am thrilled about this new opportunity to perform community outreach and interact with our high school-aged youth," he shared.
Michael’s recognition for his dedication to environmental stewardship, combined with his passion for youth education, continues to enhance CourseCo's mission of promoting sustainable practices and fostering community engagement.
