SAN JOSE, CA – Los Lagos and Rancho del Pueblo Golf Courses have been chosen as recipients of the 2007 National Golf Course Owners Association Player Development Award. There were only three facilities recognized nationally for this honor.

"The Player Development Award is bestowed upon members who have implemented true and tested player development programs at their courses. Recipients of this award are well-rounded courses offering programs that encourage non-golfers to visit the course, as well as programs that enable beginning golfers to increase their frequency of play," stated Anne Lyndrup, Director of Player Development for the NCGOA. "Los Lagos/Rancho del Pueblo Golf Courses displayed a strong commitment to growth of the game, and the NGCOA is pleased to honor their dedication to player development."

Both courses are owned by the City of San Jose and managed by CourseCo, Inc in collaboration with Capitol Development Group. "The City of San Jose has always had a commitment to providing first class recreational opportunities for all of its citizens. It is through CourseCo's efforts, along with the San Jose Sports Authority, to form the very successful programs provided by The First Tee of San Jose, coupled with the Play Golf America Initiative Programs speaks as to why the courses are being recognized. The City of San Jose is very proud of this much deserved acknowledgement for Los Lagos and Rancho del Pueblo," stated Cindy Rebhan, Parks Manager for the City of San Jose.

"We are very honored to receive this award and proud of the accomplishments of our player development programs," said Scot Hathaway, PGA, General Manager over both facilities. "Our goal is to expose as many people as possible to this wonderful game and to make it an enjoyable experience."
